An Effective Staff Scheduling for Shift Workers in Social Welfare Facilities for the Disabled

The efficient management of social worker personnel is important since it involves a huge portion in its operations. However, the burnout and turnover rates workers are very high, which due to dissatisfaction with irregular unequal schedules, despite continuous improvement treatment enactment work-related legislation Korea. This means that changes policy do not significantly contribute improving satisfaction, shows necessity strategies prevent workers. Therefore, this study aims propose strategy for staff scheduling considers fairness shift distribution among individual preference work by using linear programming. A survey about preferences conducted targeted employees welfare facility Korea enhance practicality model. effectiveness applicability developed mathematical model verified deriving deterministic schedule via system parameters were obtained based on rules numerical experiment. Compared conventional schedule, derived an deviations number shifts reflection personal preferences. can raise worker’s will decrease intention burnouts turnover. It consequently facilitate managing human resources facilities.
